Janette Hamilton, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of adults with a range of psychological experiences, including anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, relationship difficulties, and health-related concerns (i.e., chronic pain, weight loss management, smoking cessation, etc.). My goal as a provider is to work with clients to create an individualized, goal-focused treatment plan to improve general well-being and day-to-day functioning. I do so with the use of evidence-based practices to address the problem or concern in question in an effective and meaningful way. I encourage collaboration between provider and client, to ensure individual needs are being met in our work together.

My academic background includes a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. My clinical training includes an internship and fellowship in a large hospital system, where I worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings providing individual and group therapy, as well as psychological assessments. During this time, I was trained in several modalities of treatment, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), amongst others.

Relevant Work Experience Other Than Private Practice

Prior to beginning in private practice, I worked for a large hospital system as a Staff Psychologist, providing psychological services both in-person and via Telehealth. I was also involved in research, training, and program development during this time. My professional history includes previous work with non-profit mental health organizations to improve community access to behavioral health services for at-risk populations.
